Board No. 34: Roman Holiday

Eep! I apologize for the very late post today, lovelies! Please excuse my three day weekend…

In the movie Roman Holiday, Audrey Hepburn plays a European princess who escapes her cloistered, regimented life for a whirlwind play date around Rome with Gregory Peck. As I watched it last weekend, I wondered: what if a spontaneous wedding had been a part of the script? What might it have looked like? Out of necessity, the two would have headed to city hall for a simple ceremony. Audrey could have worn a short, flapper-style dress with a side ponytail, and Gregory could suit up in dark pinstripes and a single-flower boutonniere plucked from a street-side flower stand. After the I do’s, they could meet up at a sidewalk cafe with friends for champagne sipped from coupe glasses and mini gelato cones. The happy couple could send out bright and cheeky announcements when they return from the honeymoon.
