Help me choose my new glasses!

20 April 2015

Somewhere along all of my travels last month, I lost my eyeglasses. While I am very annoyed at myself for not keeping better track of them and therefore having to spend unnecessary money, I’m trying to embrace the upside: sporting a new style! I ordered five try-on pairs from Warby Parker and have narrowed the options down to two. I started with Sibley, Fitz, Upton, Welty, and Nedwin, and the two finalists are Nedwin and Welty. John and I have discussed the options at length and I’ve polled the gals in my office, but I still can’t decide, so I’m going to ask y’all. Here we go:

1. Nedwin. Very similar to my old glasses. The safer choice. One gal commented that you might not remember whether I was wearing glasses at all once we parted ways.

2. Welty. Obviously the bolder choice (GLASSES! as opposed to glasses). In person I like that you can see my eyes better with this pair. Not sure whether I’m cool enough to pull them off on a daily basis.

Keep in mind that I wear my glasses pretty much every day, so I need to be comfortable wearing them in lots of situations. Help a gal out and leave your thoughts?

UPDATE! Thanks so much for your thoughts! I decided to order the Nedwin :)

P.S. Lilly for Target. I showed up at 7:55am and ended up with a romper and a tank after waiting patiently outside the dressing room for go-backs. I’m actually SUPER pleased with the fit and cut of both. Y’all?

You look cute in both so there is no wrong decision! I think my pick would be Nedwin.

I vote option #1!

I also ended up with the romper! My friends and i divided up Targets and after mentioning I wanted the romper she was able to snag it from the go-backs at the dressing room too!

You look adorable in both but I think #1 is more Emily! I really admire your classic style and how intentional you seem to be about making your purchases with the long haul in mind.. so that’s what I see you with! :)

Oh, Lilly! I went the online route and my target account is showing that about 10 orders went through (yippee!) but I only got one confirmation email (maybe not yippee!) haha! I think if I don’t love anything out of my (potential) haul I’ll snag a tunic or something off eBay! Lilly is so worth the great quality, I think! I’ve had a ton of luck buying “new with tags” items for half the price online.. even a few times when the item is still in store! :)

I prefer #1! Cute! I dropped by Target last minute without a plan and missed the boat at 8:15…. I got a few household items and some toddler dresses for my girls but it was picked over by the pros who had been waiting for hours for it to open. Bummer.

I vote option 2! I just got some larger glasses like those and I had been unsure, too, but I really like them. I find it easier to see out of larger glasses and you can see my eyes more (as you mentioned!) I think it’s also more modern!

I just ordered five try-on pairs from Warby Parker, too (including Welty)! I vote #1!

I vote #2. They are so so cute!!

I see your predicament. Both pairs look great! I can see #1 as the more classic style, but #2 is fun and a little more on the trendy side. I just recently bought glasses from Warby Parker as well and ended up choosing Crane. These were larger frames than what I am used to and I am liking them a lot, but need to get them adjusted to fit my face better.

I love them both but I think my choice would also be the Nedwin. They just seem more you! I had a home try on from them a while ago and polled everyone as well! I’m going with the Wilkie style.

They are both lovely but I think the Nedwin suits you best :)

#1, Nedwin. But I like you in either. Of course.

I love the Welty! Like you, I also wear my glasses quite often. I still have a pair similar to your first choice, but I chose to purchase the Webb from Warby Parker because they’re just a bit outside of my comfort zone. Ironically, knowing they say GLASSES rather than glasses actually makes me feel more confident because I like that I’m able to make a slight fashion statement. Also good to note: my style is classic just like you. Take the risk for #2! :)

I ended up shopping online via the mobile links that Target accidentally launched right at 1 am. I was able to purchase a bag, scarf, and espadrilles. I’m so excited! I was hoping to find a romper or shift dress, and I’m so happy you purchased the romper, Em! Enjoy it!

I vote for Nedwin! You can absolutely pull off either, but you just look more “you” in the Nedwin and that makes them the winner to me!

I love pair #2! You look great in them.

I got a pair of glasses from Warby Parker a few months ago and absolutely love them! I used to wear contacts every day but I haven’t taken these off since. (:

I’d say of with #1! Though the second is trendy as you mentioned, I think the first pair suits you better and frames your face nicely.

All the best!

Another vote for Welty! I love the big frames trend, and you definitely pull them off!
